Called and Planted
In 2023 Grace Bible Church of Conway, Ark. approached families in their congregation from central and north central Arkansas about the possibility of planting a new Reformed Baptist congregation in the Clinton area. These families met together, sought the Lord’s will in prayer, and with the support and encouragement of Grace Bible Church, planted Trinity Reformed Baptist Church in Choctaw, Arkansas in October of that year. What began as a few families covenanted together into a gospel community has grown into a congregation united by their commitment to Christ and His Church, the authority of Scripture, and the glorification of God in all of life.
Established with Purpose
Church planting is a challenging task. It requires sacrifice, vision, and deep confidence in the promise of the Lord to build and protect His Church. The founding and early years of TRBC reflect that faith and commitment. Grace Bible Church, itself committed to the Reformed Baptist tradition, recognized an opportunity to establish a congregation where families and individuals could be rooted in sound doctrine, nourished through faithful exposition of God’s Word, strengthened by meaningful fellowship, and equipped for a life lived to the glory of God alone. TRBC was planted to bring a confessional, Reformed Baptist church to a community where none existed.
What We Believe and Why It Matters
The theological commitments of our church are anchored in the great biblical truths recovered during the Protestant Reformation and expressed most faithfully in the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689). We hold to the five Solas: Scripture alone, faith alone, grace alone, Christ alone, and glory to God alone, as the bedrock of the Gospel. We embrace the doctrines of grace, which affirm God’s absolute sovereignty in saving sinners: that He elects unconditionally, that Christ atones effectively, and that every true believer will persevere to the end. These are not peripheral convictions. They shape how we preach, how we pray, and how we live.
Worship Ordered By Scripture
One of the most distinctive marks of TRBC is our commitment to the regulative principle of worship. We believe that God has taught us in Scripture how He desires to be worshipped and we carefully seek to worship within those boundaries. Our Sunday gatherings are centered on the ordinary means of grace: the public reading of Scripture, expository preaching, corporate prayer, congregational singing of psalms and hymns, and the administration of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Preaching at TRBC is sequential and expository; we work through entire books of the Bible, explaining the text in its context and directing believers in its application. We believe it is the Holy Spirit who makes the Word effective in the hearts of God’s people.
A Church That Takes Membership Seriously
At TRBC, church membership is considered a covenant commitment. Our members submit to the care, doctrine, and discipline of the local church, and the church in turn commits to caring for every soul entrusted to it. Our church values and encourages members to serve one another and embrace active, sacrificial church membership. We are led by a plurality of biblically qualified elders who are mutually accountable to one another and to the congregation which they serve.
Family, Fellowship, and Mission
TRBC is committed to the family as the first place where faith is lived and passed on. We practice family-integrated worship, encouraging households to remain together for corporate worship. We encourage and equip fathers to lead in family worship in the home. We actively support missionary and pastor training efforts through Grace Bible Theological Seminary, helping international missionaries, and seeking future church-planting opportunities.
Trinity Reformed Baptist Church is not trying to be something new. We are trying to be faithful- to the God who planted us, the Word that sustains us, and the mission that brought us to the intersection of Highways 9 and 65 in Choctaw. If you are searching for a church where Scripture is supreme, community is deep, and worship is ordered by God’s own design, we invite you to join us.
